Poll: Why Do You Read ED Websites?
Last week, I asked you if you thought the media glamourized eating disorders, or not. The results? Two thirds of you thought that the media indeed is feeding the machine, so to speak and not treating them as a serious psychological condition. The remaining third voted that the media is really educating the public and that as much exposure as possible was necessary.
How would I vote? I think both are true. This may be one of the few things in life that I have had a moderate view of.
This week, please give your anonymous opinion about why you read websites about eating disorders.

Why do you read Eating Disorder websites?
Read: past-tents for me.
Without pro-eating disorder websites, i somewhat believe that my eating disorder would never of been able to develop as far as it did. Web pages such as “xtanga” gave me information i needed;
1) Low calorie foods
2) How to cut calories, i.e. how many.
3) Comparing me with others
These websites made me feel like there was nothing wrong with the slow suicide and mental illness I was creating for myself. Triggering negative opinions of myself, and brainwashing my mind. Feeding my mental obsession with food, heath, calories and weight which anorexia had so “kindly” created for me.
Through recovery I had to isolate myself from any eating disorder websites completely, as the littlest thing could mess up any hard work I had put in to deleting the mental illness from my system.
The hole of anorexia is easy to fall down yet feels almost impossible to climb out of.

So then love_life? What about this website intrigues you to visit? I neither take a recovery nor a strictly pro stance and I’ve been quite open about my current relapse. I also post photos that I am aware can be quite triggering.
Do you think that you’ve gone so far into recovery that you’re past the point of being triggered? I’m honestly curious as I’ve never heard anyone use a phrase such as “deleting the mental illness from my system.”
Your input is so welcome! Thank you for leaving your thoughts in the first place.

The trouble with Britney is always the same. She is an amazing vocalist. It is so moving to have to see her waste it by being caught up in all that bad stuff. She must go straight to rehabilitation, or get into a program, or get a better life coach. Will she ever tour in future? I’d love to see her perform, her concerts are really brilliant.
