Any Suggestions?

Okay, okay. I am having major difficulty. Well, not as bad now, but I still need help. I have a sweet tooth. No, it is worse than a sweet tooth. I have a sweet addiction. For those who do not know, I recently had a binge. Since then, I have been coming up with tricks to satisfy my sweet tooth and hold back from my cravings. I do not want to give into my cravings and jump into a major binge again. So, I have made some new choices in my life and now I am drinking hot chocolate.

It is not the most amazing thing for my body, but for now, it is the solution I have come up with as I detox. Yesterday, I ended up having like three hot chocolates. I would like to reduce/change that. Back the day, before I had acid reflux, I would have diet decaf soda. I would totally rely on the soda and drink a crapload of it. I didn’t have to worry about weight gain, but eventually, it started to upset my stomach and I had to let it go. Last Saturday, I was having major cravings and had a glass of diet coke. My body immediately reacted. It took me a couple days to fully get the soda out of my system. I may not have jumped into a binge, but my body was still unhappy. So, I want to ask, “Is there anything natural, that has the taste of chocolate or something sweet, that I can have unlimited amounts of without hurting my body or gaining weight? Trust me, I will end up having a lot of it. I know, it is totally not a good thing, but it’s the truth right now. I am detoxing. One step at a time. …. any suggestions?

    I have a couple of suggestions, but I was wondering if you could answer my question:

    How do you detox? I’ll admit, I’ve been binging for about a week and I am so sick of it. I want to stop this. I’m afraid if I try to fast or if I cut back too much I will only end up binging just as bad, if not worse. Do you have any advice?

    Have you tried 70-80% cocoa (chocolate bars)? You can get some really yummy ones at whole foods. They’re tart, but it doesn’t take much to feel satisfied. I too am a sucker for diet coke. Some tea with honey is sometimes a good fix for a sweet craving. So is fruit; especially apples and grapes.
    I try to remember the phrase “what you’re really craving is to feel better.” Maybe this will help you. Try to find alternatives outside of food—I know it’s extremely difficult. I’m having so much trouble giving into my cravings. Good luck! And hopefully you can give me some advice as well.
